Our Commitment to Accessibility

Tennessee Centers for Laser Dentistry ("TNCLD," "we," "our," or "us") is committed to ensuring our website and digital services are accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe that every patient and prospective patient deserves equal access to the information they need to make decisions about their oral health, schedule a visit, and engage with our practice. This commitment reflects both our values as a healthcare provider and our obligations under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act (where applicable), and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

Conformance Status

Our website at tncld.com targets conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the standard generally referenced by U.S. courts and federal agencies when evaluating digital accessibility for places of public accommodation.

We treat WCAG 2.1 Level AA as our floor, not our ceiling. Our development partner, Brik Designs, enforces accessibility through automated tooling on every code change, manual review before launch, and quarterly full-site audits.

Current conformance status: Substantially conforming, with known limitations documented below.

How We Build for Accessibility

Automated testing on every change. Every update to our website is checked against WCAG 2.1 AA criteria using axe-core, an industry-standard accessibility testing engine, before changes go live.

Manual testing before launch. New pages and major flows are tested by hand using keyboard-only navigation, screen reader software (VoiceOver, NVDA), and color-contrast tools.

Quarterly full audits. Every three months, our development partner runs a full audit of the live site and refreshes the "Last Audited" date on this page.

Design-system enforcement. Components used on our site (buttons, forms, modals, images) require accessibility properties such as labels, alt text, and ARIA relationships at the design-system level.

No accessibility overlay widgets. TNCLD does not install third-party accessibility overlay widgets (such as UserWay, AccessiBe, or EqualWeb). Independent research, including the WebAIM Screen Reader User Survey and the position of more than 900 accessibility practitioners at overlayfactsheet.com, has shown these widgets often interfere with the assistive technologies they claim to help. We instead build accessibility directly into our pages.

Reporting Accessibility Issues

If you experience any difficulty accessing content on this website, or if you need information from our site provided in an alternative format (large print, accessible PDF, audio, or in-person assistance), please contact our Accessibility Coordinator using any of the methods above.

We will:
1. Acknowledge your message within two business days.
2. Provide the information you requested in an accessible format, or arrange another way for you to access the content, within ten business days, unless additional time is reasonably required (in which case we will tell you why and when to expect a response).
3. Document the issue and use it to improve the site for future visitors.

There is no cost to you for requesting an accommodation.

Grievance Procedure

If you believe TNCLD has failed to provide accessible services or has discriminated on the basis of disability, you may file a formal grievance using the procedure below. This procedure is in addition to, not in place of, your rights under federal and state law.

Step 1 — File a written grievance. Submit the grievance to the Accessibility Coordinator (contact details above) by email or U.S. mail. The grievance should include your name and a way to reach you, the date and nature of the issue, and the remedy you are seeking. If you require assistance preparing the grievance, the Accessibility Coordinator will help.

Step 2 — Acknowledgment and investigation. TNCLD will acknowledge receipt within five business days and will investigate the issue. The Accessibility Coordinator may contact you for additional information.

Step 3 — Written response. TNCLD will provide a written response, including any remediation steps and timelines, within thirty days of receipt unless additional time is reasonably required.

Step 4 — Appeal. If you are not satisfied with the response, you may request review by Dr. Chad O. Edwards, DDS, or Dr. Ryan Torti, DDS, by writing to the practice's main address.

External remedies. You always have the right to file a complaint with:
- U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division (ADA Title III) — ada.gov/file-a-complaint · 1-800-514-0301 (TTY 1-833-610-1264)
- U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office for Civil Rights (Section 504, Section 1557 if applicable) — hhs.gov/ocr/complaints · 1-800-368-1019 (TDD 1-800-537-7697)

Filing a grievance with us does not waive your right to pursue these external remedies.

Continuous Improvement

This Accessibility Statement is reviewed and updated at least quarterly. The "Last Audited" date at the top of this page reflects our most recent full audit of the live site. If that date is more than three months old, the audit is overdue — please contact our Accessibility Coordinator.

We treat accessibility as an ongoing program, not a one-time checkbox.
